If you would like to use FTP to upload CSV files containing your order data, please read on.
Your account manager will provide you with a hostname, username and strong password for our FTP/SFTP server (or you can use your own if you prefer),
Panther Servers
- FTP (Port 21) : edi2.panthergroup.co.uk port 21 (we are creating new FTP accounts after August 2018, only SFTP)
- SFTP (port 22) : secure.panthergroup.co.uk (accounts created before August 2018)
- SFTP (port 22) : secedi.panthergroup.co.uk (accounts created after August 2018)
Note secedi requires your IP address to be added to our firewall.
Simply use these credentials to upload your csv files (in the correct format) to our FTP server. Panther Tracker is set to poll the ftp server every 15 minutes (and every 5 mins between 6-7pm), if any csv files are found, they will be processed and orders imported to tracker.
Note: Once you are happy your systems are uploading CSV files properly, you MUST let you panther account manager know so they can activate the autocrawling setting so you files are automatically imported into tracker, otherwise they will simply remain on the ftp site.
You will see various folders pre-created on your ftp site:
- to_panther (parent folder containing all data you send TO panther)
- to_panther/manifests – all order advice csv files should be uploaded into here
- to_panther/manifests/processed – successfully processed files are auto-moved here and kept for 3 months
- to_panther/manifests/failed – files that fail to process are auto-moved here and an html is generated file with any error messages. Tip: use the manual upload option via your tracker login until your file format is perfect before you automate this with ftp as you will see more detailed errors via manual uploads.
- from_panther (parent folder contain all data sent to you FROM panther)
- from_panther/tracking – If you have agreed any custom tracking data with Panther this will be where it is output (most clients can ignore this)
Naming Files
It is recommended to name your csv files with a unique filename, this helps in the event of us having to track down any problem files/orders.
A common naming convention used is yyyymmdd-tttt-client.csv
